2026-01-13 The White House ordered the FBI to search and seize journalist material from the home of a Washington Post reporter Hannah Natanson. Project 2025 page 214 specifically mandates this action. The reporter’s role was specifically to cover the federal government. After over a thousand federal employees reached out to confidentially share their stories with Hannah about the job cuts from DOGE, the FBI showed up to seize her computers and her phone. The warrant also authorized the FBI to force Hannah to unlock the devices with biometrics.

She stated, “…only someone like you would take that so seriously and pose it as a question in that way”. When the journalist asked if ICE agents were doing everything correctly after the killing of Nicole Good, Karoline spouted, “Oh, okay. So you’re a biased reporter with a left-wing opinion. Yeah, because you’re a left-wing hack. You’re not a reporter. You’re posing in this room as a journalist. And it’s so clear by the premise of your question. And you and the people in the media who have such biases but fake like you’re a journalist – you shouldn’t even be sitting in that seat. 2026-01-23 Just one hour after agents executed Alex Pretti, Pam Bondi sent a letter to Tim Walz stating the Trump administration would remove ICE from the State if Minnesota met demands to hand over voter files, SNAP data, and repealed its sanctuary policy.

2026-01-23 ICE fatally shot and killed 37-year-old VA nurse Alex Pretti when he tried to help a woman who was being surrounded by ICE agents. According to sources, Pretti did have a concealed carry license. DHS reported they killed Pretti because he threatened to shoot ICE agents, but several witnesses and captured video showed Pretti only holding his phone. Six ICE agents tackled Pretti and removed what appeared to be a gun from him, pepper sprayed him, held him face-down and then shot him several times in the back. After the shooting, DHS refused to share evidence with local investigators.

2026-01-27 A whistleblower reported in an interview that members of DOGE shared sensitive data such as personally identifiable information of 1000 people via email, shared third-party data on cloud servers outside security protocols, and other data concerns. A complaint for these violations had been filed the previous summer, then that person – Chuck Borges – involuntarily resigned in August and filed a retaliation complaint after.

2026-01-27 US Representative Ilhan Omar was attacked by a far-right activist during a town hall. After the attack, Trump responded with a conspiracy theory and accused Omar of “staging the attack”. This was not the first time he had used conspiracy to turn fault away from far-right political violence, as he had also done this after the murder of Rob Reiner and his wife, the violent assault of Nancy Pelosi’s husband, and after the insurrection.

2026-01-27 Trump said he intended to drive housing prices up, not down, stating, “I don’t want to drive housing prices down. I want to drive housing prices up for people that own their homes. And they can be assured that’s what’s going to happen”, further adding that policymakers should not make housing “too easy and too cheap”.

2026-01-27 ICE agents shot 37-year-old Patrick Schlegel in Arivaca Arizona allegedly for smuggling immigrants into the country and brandishing a gun.

2026-01-28 After the public execution of Pretti, both Kristi Noem and Stephen Miller pointed fingers at each other, each one stating that they were following the others’ orders.

2026-01-28 After ICE agents killed Alex Pretti in Minnesota, Trump stated Pretti should not have had a gun at a protest. Shortly after, both the NRA and Gun Owners of America clashed with Trump over Second Amendment rights.

2026-01-28 The US Embassy in Copenhagen removed flags honoring fallen Danish soldiers who died in Afghanistan for the US. Trump claimed the soldiers “didn’t walk the front line”. Only after public outcry were the flags reinstalled.

2026-01-28 Amazon’s Jeff Bezos forked over $75M to fund a documentary about Melania Trump, and in the same month laid off 16,000 Amazon workers.

2026-01-28 The Christian Nationalist movement doesn’t want room for other religions or other faiths. Case in point when someone painted over a billboard in Los Angeles originally put up by a group called World’s Last Chance, an organization made up of non-denominational volunteers.

2026-01-29 Trump sued the IRS and Treasury for $10B for leaked tax information.

2026-01-29 ICE detained 5-year-old Liam Ramos and his father in the Dilley Texas detention center. The child had stopped eating, was lethargic, and was going through depression. One article quoted an attorney as saying, “It’s way worse than people think. The water is putrid. They have to mix baby formula with water that nobody wants to even smell. The food has bugs in it. The food has dirt in it”. After this got national attention the child and his father were released in February on judge orders. The father said ICE agents refused medical treatment for the child during custody. One article wrote that shortly after the father and son were released, the detention center had an outbreak of an active measles infection. The Trump administration said they planned to appeal the release.

2026-01-29 State Representatives made efforts to visit 5-year-old detainee Liam Ramos and his father at the Dilley Texas detention center, and learned that the child had stopped eating, was lethargic, and going through depression. It was only after national attention that the child and his father were released in February on judge orders. The Trump administration stated they would plan to appeal the release. The father stated the abandonment accusations were untrue, and they refused medical treatment to the child during custody.

2026-01-29 As the US began to lose its measles elimination status, the CDC under-reported 588 measles cases across 17 states, while other health organizations reported that South Carolina alone had over 800 cases in January.

2026-02-01 News outlets reported on the Trump family cryptocurrency business World Financial selling 49% of its crypto to Emirati royal family.

2026-02-01 Producer Price Index (wholesale inflation) increased at a seasonally adjusted 0.7% for February 2026. The expectation was 0.3%. PPI inflation was at 3.4% for the year. Core PPI was up 3.9% for the year. These are generally indicators of our CPI. These numbers do not yet reflect the cause-and-effect of Trump’s war in Iran. 2026-02-01 The FDA blocked review of a flu vaccine developed by Moderna.

2026-02-02 Adobe announced plans to completely get rid of Adobe Animate by March 1st and instead reinvest in AI. The company later changed their announcement after huge backlash from investors and businesses.

2026-02-02 Trump announced the Kennedy center would be shut down for two years for “renovations”. Renovations would include marble, furniture, gold inlay and gold trim. Trump said the renovations would not come from taxpayer money at all, stating quote, “zero taxpayer”. Meanwhile, a Gallup survey showed that millions of Americans were skipping meals in order to pay for their healthcare. The Gallup poll said, “In a nationally and state-representative survey of nearly 20,000 US adults conducted from June through August 2025, roughly one-third of respondents – the equivalent of more than 82 million Americans – said they have made at least one trade-off with daily living expenses to afford healthcare. Americans are also postponing retirement.

2026-02-03 DHS submitted an administrative subpoena against a 67-year-old man from Pennsylvania after he wrote an email to them asking to “apply principles of common sense and decency” in their treatment of a man seeking asylum from Afghanistan. DHS issued the subpoena to Google just hours after the man sent the email so they could access the man’s computer and Gmail. Two weeks later, they showed up to his front door for questioning. The ACLU had to get involved to challenge the subpoena and the violation of his First Amendment rights.

2026-02-03 The Trump Administration’s Interior Secretary Doug Burgum introduced a PR campaign to place an innocent façade on Trump’s “drill-baby-drill” campaign by using the cartoon mascot “Coalie”.
