If a history lesson doesn’t make clear the racist implications of not welcoming migrants, keep in mind news outlets began to report in October 2025 how the Trump administration began work to overhaul the refugee system so it would favor white people.

2020-03-06 From 2020 to current Trump has made several comments about the genetics of migrants. In 2020 the Trump administration required Homeland Security to collect DNA from immigration detainees. In October 2024, Trump blamed migrants for having “bad genes”, adding there are “a lot of bad genes in our country right now” and immigrants entering the US illegally are “poisoning the blood of our country”. In 2026 Trump was interviewed on Fox by Brian Kilmeade. Allegedly he stated, “They shouldn’t have been let in. They’re just bad. Their genetics – They are not exactly your genetics”.

The commercial featured Sydney Sweeney stating, “Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color. My jeans are blue”, followed by a voiceover “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans”.
