Trump promised that Mexico would pay for the border wall, but American taxpayers ultimately paid BILLIONS, including funds redirected from the Department of Defense and Department of the Treasury after Congress declined to provide the full amount. Do you believe it was appropriate for the president to bypass Congress’s spending decision in that way, and will you commit to preventing any president, Republican or Democrat, from using emergency powers to redirect taxpayer money that Congress appropriated for other purposes?

Question 2

JD Vance blamed immigrants for unaffordable housing, but the administration’s own answer was a 50-year mortgage that could leave young families paying far more interest and building equity much more slowly. President Trump then refused to sign a bipartisan housing bill, calling it a “big yawn” and using it as leverage for an unrelated voting bill. Why is housing affordability treated like a political bargaining chip, and what will you do to ensure our children can actually afford homes?
