2018

2018-06-19 Under the first Trump administration the U.S. withdrew from the UN Human Rights Council. Secretary Pompeo called the council “a poor defender of human rights”, accused it of allowing authoritarian government in its membership, claimed unfair election processes, and claimed bias against Israel. The UN representative at the time Nikki Haley also made her remarks.

2024-12-16 A Human Rights Watch article analyzed the deliberate use of child separation as a deterrent, as well as citing stats that 1,360 children have never been reunited with their parents after 6 years.

2026

2026-04-21 Amnesty International released their annual Global Human Rights report. In that report, they described the leaders of Israel, Russia and the United States as “voracious predators” intent on economic and political domination, citing the war in Iran, relentless killing in Lebanon, and the genocide in Gaza. It also cited the growing resistance of States in South Africa as they join to protest the genocide case against Israel in the International Court of Justice.
