President Trump previously proposed cutting the Transportation Department’s discretionary budget by roughly 13 percent, and in 2025 his administration fired hundreds of FAA employees, including workers who supported aviation safety and maintenance. It also proposed cutting TSA funding while our controller workforce remains thousands below targeted staffing and our air-traffic systems urgently need modernization. Why does this administration keep targeting the workforce and agencies responsible for safe air travel, and will you oppose any further staffing or safety cuts?

President Trump previously proposed cutting federal transit grants by $1 billion, while his Transportation Department was already withholding billions Congress had approved for local projects. Now, NHTSA, the Federal Highway Administration, and the Federal Transit Administration are each losing more than a quarter of their staff, including employees responsible for vehicle, highway, and transit safety. How can cutting both infrastructure funding and safety personnel make transportation safer, and will you vote to restore these resources?
