SAMPLE LETTER
Dear Sir or Madam,
This is not solely about racism within this administration. It is about the systematic marginalization of entire groups of people, the normalization of hate-filled rhetoric that incites hostility and violence, and the elevation of individuals who embrace extremist ideologies.
Native American rights are being infringed upon. Black voters are being disenfranchised. Americans who are not white are increasingly subjected to racial profiling. Islamophobia and hostility toward Muslims are being openly promoted. Programs designed to help disadvantaged and historically marginalized communities are being dismantled, while efforts to erase or rewrite difficult chapters of our nation’s history continue.
Individuals who embrace ideologies such as the Great Replacement Theory and Manifest Destiny are being elevated to positions of authority. Public officials have faced little or no accountability for sharing blatantly racist memes. Groups of Republican lawmakers have been caught participating in or sharing content from deeply racist online forums. Senators have displayed Nazi symbolism in their offices without meaningful consequence.
Most disturbing, white supremacists are being pardoned, appointed to positions of power, receiving financial support, permitted to establish 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, or, in some cases, all of the above. These are not isolated incidents—they represent a pattern of legitimizing and empowering extremist ideology.
How can you support a political movement that repeatedly enables and elevates white supremacist ideology? The following outlines my concerns in greater detail. Some examples are included to provide historical context and demonstrate how these patterns have developed over time.
Chronology.
1920-01-01 During the rise of the eugenics movement Charles Davenport proposed building a wall to “keep out the cheaper races”.
1954-05-17 The Supreme Court case Brown v Board of Education desegregated schools. Megachurch founder and televangelist Jerry Falwell stated in a sermon, “If Chief Justice (Earl) Warren and his associates had known God’s word and had desired to do the Lord’s will, I am quite confident that the 1954 decision would have never been made. The facilities should be separate. When God has drawn a line of distinction, we should not attempt to cross that line”.
1966-01-01 Jerry Falwell founded the whites-only Lynchburg Christian Academy to circumvent the 1954 ruling to ban segregation. He wrote in his book ‘America Can Be Saved’, “I hope I live to see the day when, as in the early days of our country, we won’t have any public schools. The churches will have taken them over again and Christians will be running them”. In 1977 courts ruled that segregated private religious schools could not qualify as charitable organizations or retain tax exempt status.
1989-01-01 Trump pushed for the death penalty of five wrongfully convicted Black and Latino men. The men later sued Trump.
1991-03-03 Four officers brutally beat Rodney King, but two of the officers were later acquitted despite the incident being captured on video by a bystander. This ignited the L.A. riots.
1992-08-17 During an interview on Face the Nation, Pat Buchanan was asked about a racist memo against Jewish, Black, and Gay Americans. He said he wrote “tough” memos and would not “apologize for any of them.
1995-01-01 Peter Thiel published “The Myth About Diversity”.
1999-08-16 David Horowitz published an article in Salon, writing, “Guns don’t kill black people, other blacks do… The NAACP’s ludicrous idea to sue gun manufacturers is yet another attempt by the left to avoid personal responsibility for some individuals’ bad behavior…If blacks are oppressed in America, why isn’t there a black exodus? Why do all those black Haitians want to come here? To be oppressed?”.
2001-01-01 Stephen Miller invited David Horowitz to speak at his high school and started a group called “Horowitz’s Students for Academic Freedom”.
2001-01-01 Stephen Miller reportedly called into Larry Elder’s radio show while in high school. Larry Elder referred to Trump sexual assault allegations as “child’s play”, wrote that women knew less about politics than men, and claimed systemic racism was lie.
2002-03-27 Stephen Miller wrote an article in the Santa Monica Lookout, “I suppose then that our country would have been better off if our soldiers never killed anyone, and we watched as our nation was obliterated by the evil in the world, as we sung songs of peace and love. Or, better yet, we could have lived with the Indians, learning how to finger paint and make tepees”. He also ranted about his school translating documents into Spanish or giving attention to Mexican holidays.
2006-06-28 Courts ruled that States can redistrict as many times as they want (see Leage of United Latin American Citizens v Perry, Governor of Texas).
2006-10-10 Stephen Miller wrote in the Duke Chronicle, “Affirmative action places a false and pernicious label on every black person in our country as being part of a special class of people needing special assistance. It advances students beyond their levels of academic preparation and, in condescendingly lowering the bar for millions of people, so too lowers motivation and achievement”.
2007-01-01 Stephen Miller accused universities of censorship because they refused to run an ad that claimed “Muslims have problems living peacefully with their neighbors”.
2007-02-25 In a Duke Chronicle article, Stephen Miller wrote “..majority of whites in America are not racist…” and cited two rape cases, suggesting the white assailant was victim to a “witch hunt” while the Black assailant somehow received preferential treatment.
2007-03-01 According to the book “Hatemonger”, Stephen Miller organized an immigration debate with Richard Spencer, who became a well-known white nationalist and invited editor of VDARE.com Peter Brimelow.
2008-03-11 Democrat Geraldine Ferraro was interviewed on the Daily Breeze (Torrance CA) and stated, “If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept”.
2008-08-24 Three white supremacists attempted to assassinate Obama. The alleged motive was a belief that an African American should not be elected President.
2008-10-27 Two white supremacists were arrested after plotting to murder Obama and then carry out a racially motivated killing spree.
2009-01-01 Twenty-two-year-old Oscar Grant was killed by officers in Oakland CA.
2010-01-01 Discussion of the Great Replacement Theory surfaced a lot more and even showed up later in 2022 during the Buffalo NY massacre when it was mentioned in the manifesto.
2012-02-26 Trayvon Martin was walking home from a convenience store while visiting a family townhouse when he was fatally shot by George Zimmerman who claimed self-defense and cited Florida’s Stand Your Ground law. Zimmerman was only charged and tried a year later after heavy media coverage and protest rallies.
2012-04-01 Rick Santorum campaigned on anti-gay rhetoric and abortion misinformation. He claimed there was nothing in America before white colonizers arrived and that Native Americans had not contributed to American culture, marriage equality would lead to sibling marriages or man on dog marriages, and gay rights prevented God from blessing America.
2013-06-25 Courts tossed out a rule in the Voting Rights Act that would require states with an extensive history of racial discrimination to submit any changes in their election policies or maps to the federal government for advance review before putting them into effect (see Shelby County, Alabama v. Holder, Attorney General).
2013-11-02 Renisha McBride was shot and killed after she knocked on a door and the homeowner thought she was breaking in.
2013-12-11 Fox news host Megyn Kelly insisted both Jesus and Santa Clause are white.
2014-11-02 Twelve-year-old Tamir Rice was killed outside a rec center by a police officer. A grand jury declined to bring criminal charges against the officer.
2015-06-17 A white supremacist opened fire at Charleston church, but only after he spend 45 minutes in worship with the congregation. The suspect waited until everyone was in prayer before he began the massacre, firing approximately 74 rounds, and then told one of the victims “I’m going to leave you here to tell the story”. Dylan Roof remains on death row in Terre Haute Federal Prison in Indiana.
2015-07-01 Doug Wilson claimed same-sex marriage was a more serious problem than supporting slavery.
2015-09-06 Stephen Miller allegedly recommended “The Camp of the Saints” to Breitbart News. This book a French novel about white genocide and the great replacement theory.
2016-03-18 Black Lives Matter co-founder Alicia Garza stated, “We are expected to participate in democracy while receiving conditional citizenship in return”.
2016-07-06 Trump posted an image of Hillary Clinton in front of cash and a Star of David captioned, “Most Corrupt Candidate Ever.”
2016-07-10 Rudy Giuliani stated that Black parents needed to teach their children to respect the police.
2016-10-20 A Chicago police officer shot 17-year-old Laquan McDonald in the back 16 times and only served three years in jail.
2016-11-03 David Duke and the KKK expressed their support for Donald Trump.
2017-01-20 Trump proposed budget cuts to the Minority Business Development Agency during his first term.
2017-01-28 Trump placed a travel ban on six Muslim majority countries.
2017-05-21 The alt-right developed social platform GAB where white nationalists can freely express their opinions and views.
2017-08-11 During a Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville a white supremacist drove into counterprotesters, killing 32-year-old Heather Heyer.
2017-08-15 Trump called Unite the Right activists “very fine people”. David Duke submitted a social media post thanking Trump for his kind words about the protesters at the Unite the Right rally. Duke wrote, “Thank you President Trump for your honesty and courage to tell the truth about #Charlottesville & condemn the leftist terrorists in BLM/Antifa”.
2018-01-11 Trump called Haiti, El Salvador, and certain African nations “shithole” countries and complained that the US didn’t receive more immigrants from what he considered better countries like Norway. Trump also claimed Haitian immigrants “all have AIDS” during an Oval Office meeting.
2018-03-08 A Floridian middle-school social studies teacher was pulled after the school learned she had a white supremacist podcast.
2018-10-23 Fox news host Megyn Kelly had to publicly apologize for insensitive comments she made about black face.
2018-12-15 Tucker Carlson said on his show that immigrants make our country “dirtier” and “poorer”.
2019-04-01 Right wing operatives Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman paid for a robocall campaign in New York to suppress the Black vote.
2019-05-10 Ronald Hardin Greene was arrested by Louisiana State Police, repeatedly beaten, shackled, tazed, and denied medical care. He died before reaching the hospital.
2019-06-17 SCOTUS ruled that federal courts couldn’t stop states from drawing lines on a partisan basis and had no authority to resolve partisan gerrymandering claims (see Rucho v. Common Cause).
2019-07-15 Trump told four congresswomen of color to “go back” to their countries, even though they’re from this one.
2019-10-25 United Healthcare used racial bias in their healthcare algorithms.
2020-01-01 In the book “Hatemonger” by Jean Guerrero interviewees accounted Stephen Miller bullying Hispanic students, and saying, “it doesn’t matter what the truth is, but how it makes people feel”.
2020-01-17 Politico released hours of Facebook videos in which Marjorie Taylor Greene publicly ranted about Muslims, Black people, George Soros, Jews, and other stuff.
2020-02-23 Three white men chased down and killed 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery while he was out jogging.
2020-03-06 From 2020 to current Trump has made several comments about the genetics of migrants. In 2020 the Trump administration required Homeland Security to collect DNA from immigration detainees. In October 2024, Trump blamed migrants for having “bad genes”, adding there are “a lot of bad genes in our country right now” and immigrants entering the US illegally are “poisoning the blood of our country”. In 2026 Trump was interviewed on Fox by Brian Kilmeade. Allegedly he stated, “They shouldn’t have been let in. They’re just bad. Their genetics – They are not exactly your genetics”.
2020-03-18 Trump received media attention for referring to COVID as the “China virus” which he said was “because it comes from China”.
2020-05-25 George Floyd died after a police officer pressed his knee into the back of Floyd’s neck for more than 9 minutes.
2020-06-01 Law enforcement used excessive force to remove racial justice protestors from Lafayette Square. Trump asked if he could order law enforcement to “just shoot” the protestors.
2020-08-01 Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkhman continued their robocall campaign in Detroit to suppress Black voters. Both plead no contest to voter intimidation August 2025.
2021-01-06 Tucker Carlson allegedly texted a producer about J6, “A couple of weeks ago, I was watching video of people fighting on the street in Washington,” Carlson texted a producer. “A group of Trump guys surrounded an Antifa kid and started pounding the living s**t out of him. It was three against one, at least. Jumping a guy like that is dishonorable obviously. It’s not how white men fight. Yet suddenly I found myself rooting for the mob against the man, hoping they’d hit him harder, kill him. I really wanted them to hurt the kid. I could taste it”.
2021-04-14 During a hearing Representative Scott Perry pushed a Great Replacement theory that nonwhite immigrants were intentionally brought to the US to dilute voting power. Perry also allegedly voted against the Violence Against Women Act, claimed ISIS was behind a mass shooting in Las Vegas, and tried to repeal the ACA without any way to replace it.
2021-04-15 Senator Ron Johnson pushed the Great Replacement Theory on Fox, “Is it really they want to remake the demographics of America? To ensure that they stay in power forever?”
2021-04-15 Sixty-three Republicans voted against the COVID 19 Hate Crimes Act, also called the Anti-Asian Hate Crime Bill.
2021-05-20 A civil rights group sued Trump for referring to COVID as “Chinese Virus”, “China Virus”, “Wuhan Virus”, and “Kung Flu Virus”. Former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer posted, “Wait a minute… After months of being told it was racist to refer to COVID as a ‘Chinese virus’ the WP refers to its new strains as ‘British and South African variants.’ So you can use the name of the nation where it comes from, so long as that nation is not China. Got it.”
2021-06-01 Texas House Bill 3979 restricts race, slavery and current event curriculum in public schools by removing material pertaining to Native American history, Cesar Chavez, Susan B. Anthony, Frederick Douglas and Martin Luther King Jr.
2021-07-17 Liberty University’s diversity retention officer sued Liberty for discrimination of his race and sexual orientation. Liberty University is a far-right evangelical private school that has been involved with Trump and funded “The Trump Prophecy” film.
2021-07-21 Fox News contributor Leo Terrell attacked Critical Race Theory. Trump later appointed him to be Senior Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division.
2021-07-26 JD Vance said, ”You can’t have so many people coming to the country at a time when our own families aren’t replicating themselves”.
2021-08-27 Larry Elder claimed systemic racism is a lie.
2021-09-17 During an interview on Jack Murphy Live, JD Vance claimed that COVID masking traumatized children, chastised teachers for teaching about slavery, attacked CRT, claimed “wokeism” assimilation, and praised Curtis Yarvin.
2021-10-06 Charlie Kirk called George Floyd a scumbag during a speech in Mankato Minnesota, adding that his death was not worthy of the national attention it received.
2021-10-27 Republicans rallied against teaching Critical Race Theory.
2022-01-01 Stephen Wolfe (who has ties to Doug Wilson) wrote “The Case of Christian Nationalism”. Readers cited messages that ethnicities should not mix, empathy was a sin, women were a threat to the movement, and violence was justified.
2022-02-01 Nick Fuentes held his first annual America First Political Action Conference which he founded in 2020 as white nationalist alternative to the CPAC.
2022-03-17 JD Vance claimed immigration was an invasion on Fox, “They can’t win re-election in 2022 unless they bring in a large number of new voters to replace the voters that are already here. That’s what this is about. We have an invasion in this country.”
2022-04-05 Vance campaigned as an America First Conservative. He said in his ad, “Are YOU a racist? Do you hate Mexicans? The media calls us racist for wanting to build Trump’s wall. They censor us, but it doesn’t change the truth. Joe Biden’s open border is killing Ohioans, with more illegal drugs, and more Democrat voters pouring into this country. This issue is personal. 2022-05-14 A white supremacist walked into a Buffalo NY supermarket, killed 10 Black people and wounded 3 others. Investigators discovered his motives were tied in with the “Great Replacement Theory” conspiracy.
2022-05-25 During an interview on Tucker Carlson Heather MacDonald claimed the Black Lives Matter had a problematic narrative and we don’t have a police brutality problem in the United States.
2022-11-25 Trump dined with Nick Fuentes.
2022-12-08 Charlie Kirk said, “If you’re a WNBA, pot-smoking, Black lesbian, do you get treated better than a United States marine?”
2023-03-03 In the same news story, Ken Peters of Patriot Church in Tennessee admonished planned parenthood and transgender people but praised the Proud Boys.
2023-04-09 Marjorie Taylor Greene openly embraced the Great Replacement Theory during a rally.
2023-05-19 Charlie Kirk said, “Happening all the time in urban America, prowling Blacks go around for fun to go target white people, that’s a fact. It’s happening more and more.”
2023-06-09 SCOTUS ruled that Alabama discriminated against Black voters.
2023-07-13 Charlie Kirk said, “If we would have said that Joy Reid and Michelle Obama and Sheila Jackson Lee and Ketanji Brown Jackson were affirmative action picks, we would have been called racists. 2023-10-06 NBC reported that Elon Musk ally Mike Benz pushed the Great Replacement Theory on his podcasts.
2023-11-16 Mike Davis said on the Benny Show, “We’re gonna put kids in cages, it’s going to be glorious. Sieg gulag”.
2023-12-23 Charlie Kirk said Martin Luther King was “awful” and “not a good person”, claiming, “We made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s”.
2024-01-23 Charlie Kirk said, “If I’m dealing with somebody in customer service who’s a moronic Black woman, I wonder is she there because of her excellence, or is she there because of affirmative action?”
2024-01-23 Charlie Kirk said, “If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, boy, I hope he’s qualified”.
2024-03-01 Reform UK councilor Glen Gibbins posted, “Carnt believe amount of Nigerians in town…should melt them all down and fill in the pot holes!!!”. He was suspended, then won a key seat in Parliament in 2026. He also allegedly wrote, “…an army of Muslims who will in time turn on us…” and, “OUR TOLERANCE IS The MUSLIMS GREATEST WEAPON”.
2024-03-01 MAGA reframed the acronym DEI as Didn’t Earn It, implying that people of color and marginalized groups only secure jobs or promotions due to mandates rather than merit.
2024-03-01The US Department of Education updated their FAFSA form to include more racial subcategories for whites.
2024-03-01 Charlie Kirk said, “The great replacement strategy, which is well under way every single day in our southern border, is a strategy to replace white rural America with something different.”
2024-03-20 Charlie Kirk said, “The American Democrat party hates this country. They wanna see it collapse. They love it when America becomes less white.”
2024-03-28 Phil Lyman blamed the Baltimore bridge crash on DEI and targeted Karenthia A. Barber in a repost from the Young Conservatives Federation, “This is what happens when you have Governors who prioritize diversity over the wellbeing and security of citizens”.
2024-04-12 Christian Nationalist Pastor Shane Vaughn said Justice Jackson “talks monkey talk” and “belongs in the jungle”.
2024-05-01 Governor Greg Abbott gave a full pardon to Daniel Perry, the former US Army sergeant who murdered Garrett Foster during a Black Lives Matter protest in Austin Texas in July of 2020. Prior to Perry murdering a protester, he posted online “I’m going to go kill a protester”.
2024-05-06 A group of white voters claimed the Louisiana congressional map “racially stigmatizes”, “racially stereotypes”, and “racially maligns” them.
2024-06-14 Republican Anthony Hudson posted a deepfake of MLK Jr. endorsing him.
2024-06-19 Valentina Gomez posted a racist Juneteenth comment on X attacking Black Lives Matter and reparations.
2024-06-22 Trump floated the idea of a “migrant UFC” league during a Faith and Freedom conference in DC.
2024-07-10 Vance said during a National Conservatism convention, “Look, the thing on immigration is that no one can avoid that it has made our societies poorer, less safe, less prosperous, and less advanced.”
2024-07-19 After the CrowdStrike outage, Elon Musk posted, “Not very “bright” right now, is it?” alongside a reposted Bright Network DEI banner, suggesting the outage was due to DEI. America First Legal filed a civil rights complaint on CrowdStrike for discriminating against white males. Steve Guest posted “Equity is nobody in the world being able to get on an airplane simultaneously. Thanks CrowdStrike”.
2024-07-31 The National Association of Black Journalists interviewed Trump about his racist commentary and attacks on minorities, but it was delayed after Trump allegedly squabbled over their fact-checking process ahead of the interview.
2024-09-05 Vance claimed during a rally, “There is a logic to what the Democrats are trying to do. It’s disgusting, but there’s a logic to it. They want illegal aliens to steal everybody’s job, and now they want illegal aliens to steal everybody’s vote.”
2024-09-08 Laura Loomer posted if Kamala Harris became president “the White House will smell like curry”. JD Vance refused to condemn the comment and replied, “I make a mean chicken curry”.
2024-09-09 Ted Cruz posted a meme of two cats hugging, captioned “Please vote for Trump so Haitian immigrants don’t eat us”.
2024-09-09 Trump reposted a tweet from JD Vance, “Months ago, I raised the issue of Haitian illegal immigrants draining social services and generally causing chaos all over Springfield, Ohio. Reports now show that people have had their pets abducted and eaten by people who shouldn’t be in this country. Where is our border czar?”. Trump added “Border Czar Kamala Harris invited thousands of Haitian Migrants to flood into America and now a small town in Ohio is being torn apart because of what Kamala did”.
2024-09-10 JD Vance posted “In the last several weeks, my office has received many inquiries from actual residents of Springfield who’ve said their neighbors’ pets or local wildlife were abducted by Haitian migrants. It’s possible, of course, that all of these rumors will turn out to be false”.
2024-09-10 Trump falsely accused Haitian immigrants of eating pets during a debate and denied involvement with Project 2025.
2024-09-11 JD Vance defended spreading Springfield pet rumors on CNN, “When you have a lot of people saying ‘My pets are being abducted’ or ‘Geese at the city pond are being abducted and slaughtered right in front of us’, this is crazy stuff. And again, whether those exact rumors turn out to be mostly true, somewhat true, whatever the case may be – Kaitlan, this town has been ravaged by 20,000 migrants coming in. Health care costs are up. Housing costs are up. Communicable diseases like HIV and TB have skyrocketed in this small Ohio town. This is what Kamala Harris’s border policies have done. And I think it’s interesting, Kaitlan, that, that the media didn’t care about the carnage brought by these policies until we turned it into a meme about cats”.
2024-09-12 After Trump and Vance spread pet-eating claims, Springfield residents faced extensive bomb threats against county, school, and hospital facilities.
2024-09-17 During a campaign stop in Eau Claire, JD Vance was quoted by a local newspaper saying, ”We’re bankrupting… a lot of hospitals by forcing [them to] provide care for people who don’t have the legal right to be in our country”.
2024-10-01 Representatives in Kendrick Idaho claimed that discrimination doesn’t exist in Idaho. When Nez Perc member Trish Carter Goodheart disagreed, Senator Forman told her to go back to where she came from.
2024-10-02 Vance claimed, ”Illegal aliens competing with Americans for scarce homes is one of the most significant drivers of home prices in the country”.
2024-10-28 During the Madison Square Garden Trump rally, Kill-Tony called Puerto Rico a floating pile of garbage.
2025-01-13 An FBI press release raised alarm about increasing white supremacism.
2025-01-20 Elon Musk gave a fascist salute at Trump’s inauguration. Other Republicans started imitating the salute. Scott Jennings defended Musk on CNN, asserting it wasn’t fascist, until Catherine Rampell challenged him to do the salute on camera. Then he had nothing to say.
