Question 1

President Trump has repeatedly described immigrants in terms of “bad genes,” “poisoning the blood” of the country, and, most recently, genetics unlike those of other Americans. That language suggests that criminality and human worth are inherited traits, an idea historically associated with eugenics. Do you condemn that rhetoric, and what will you do to ensure immigration policy never treats people as biologically inferior because of their ancestry?

Question 2

This administration claims it is making our cities safer, yet federal immigration agents shot Marimar Martinez after saying, “Do something, bitch,” and later bragged, “I fired five rounds and she had seven holes.” Nicole Good’s last words were “It’s okay, I’m not mad at you”. Alex Pretti’s last action was to protect a woman. The last words of the father in Maine who was executed in front of his 3-year-old girl was, “I tried to stop”. The death toll has risen so high that even the U.N. has called for an investigation. Do you support this militarization of our streets, and what part of Americans being terrorized by their own government makes us safer?
